For seven years, as of December 26, 1996, each and every moment of her life M’Linda hears, “Mommy Help Me! Mommy Help Me!” It doesn’t matter what she is doing or how busy she is with her family or social commitments, the cry is always the same…

“Mommy Help Me! Mommy Help Me!”

M’Linda has shared her story with those who have the position and the power to investigate the facts.

During her restless sleep, thoughts of how to move forward to the next step abound. She prays for a wise audience with at least curiosity enough to pursue aggressively all leads given in good faith, especially when all their other avenues are exhausted.

During her days, each and every day, she acts on her instincts to continue to help JonBenét find justice. A letter here, phone calls there, a luncheon with friends who have fresh ideas and a great deal of faith. M’Linda’s determination and belief in herself prompts her to always move ahead. She doesn’t waste time pondering over why those individuals already brought into the loop have, by their own choice, fallen by the wayside. That is indeed a waste of time.

Instead, with new hope in her heart each day, she forges on. She cannot ever erase the vision of what was left of JonBenét’s lifeless body after “he” was finished with it. How sadistic can a person be when you have no reserves about intentional torture of a fragile six-year-old little girl?

During her own moments of despair over JonBenét’s death, a child she never knew in life but has bonded with in spirit, she sits alone. She cries, not just for JonBenét, but also for all the senseless pain brought to so many of our children by people who should be treated like rabid dogs. You cannot cure a rabid dog. You know it will destroy again. You do what you must to keep the innocent safe from harm or even death.

How do you explain loving a child you never met while wanting desperately for her to find peace, but at the same time wanting justice for her as well?
M’Linda feels JonBenét’s heart ache with each attack against her family, the people she loves the most. At times she can pick up feelings of complete frustration over unconscionable delays caused by closed minds. She feels JonBenét’s joy when she reaches a righteous and sympathetic ear, but she shares in her anger when all trails of hope lead back to the same deaf ears and one-track minds with tunnel vision.
